Maggie Marr was born and raised in Illinois. After practicing law for four
years, first as a guardian-ad-litem for abused children in Chicago and then
as a prosecutor in domestic violence in Denver, she made the move to Los
Angeles with her husband, who is an actor. Her first job in entertainment
was pushing the mail cart at ICM, where she eventually became a motion
picture literary agent. She now splits her time between writing and
producing. Her first novel, Hollywood Girls Club, is now available. She is currently working on Secrets of The Hollywood Girls Club
and just finished the television pilot Pretty Is As Pretty Does.

Are the characters in Hollywood Girls Club real?
 |
They are real...in a way. None of the characters are based on one
person. But all the characters have pieces of many people. And luckily
for me the people that I represented as an agent were heaven sent. |
Do those things actually happen?
Oh yes, they happen. They happen all the time.
Are you a member of the Hollywood Girls Club?
 |
I have my group of girlfriends, they have my back, always, and I have
theirs. |
How did you get your start in Hollywood?
 |
I began in the ICM mailroom. I pushed the mail cart for six months and
then became an assistant to the BEST motion picture agent in the business.
I was an assistant for 18 months and then was promoted to coordinator and
then agent. |

 |
I write and I produce. I work for Six Mile Ridge Productions and Dahooma
Productions. |
What film projects are you working on now?
 |
Paddeyville and King of Pipers are Dahooma Productions projects that will
begin filming this spring. |
What television projects are you working on now?
 |
I just finished Pretty Is As Pretty Does.
and am now working on Donor 3660. |
Any future books?
Who have you worked with?
Good girls don't name names...
Which character are you most like?
 |
When I first arrived in Hollywood I was most like Mary Anne; wide-eyed,
enthusiastic and naive. Once I worked at the agency and toughened up I was
Jessica, sharp and savvy. Now that I'm producing I like to think I have a
little bit of Lydia in me. And Celeste? When I go to parties and
premieres
maybe I feel a little bit like a celeb...who doesn't want to be a star? |
Do you like Hollywood?
 |
I LOVE Hollywood. It is filled with the most creative people in the
world. Where else can a girl from Illinois go from mailroom to published
author? |
